I'm actually writing about fireflies in a chapter of my new book due out next fall. The synchronous fireflies of the Smokies are one of the world's great marvels - they flash in unison!

Yes! I hadn't been there in years, but it was definitely worth the drive to stay there! (My son said it felt like camp!)
